Join us as we welcome KIRSTEN MILLER in conversation with MANDY MARTIN on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7 at 6:00 PM to celebrate the release of her newest novel THE WOMEN OF WILD HILL.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
A witty, spectacular, and timely tale of modern-day witches waging war on the patriarchy, from fan favorite Kirsten Miller, the author of The Change and Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books.
There are places on earth where nature's powers gather. Girls raised there are bequeathed strange gifts. A few have powers so dark that they fear to use them. Such a place is Wild Hill, on the tip of Long Island. For centuries, the ghost of a witch murdered by colonists claimed the beautiful and fertile Wild Hill...until a young Scottish woman with strange gifts arrived. Sadie Duncan was allowed to stay.
Five generations of Sadie's descendants called Wild Hill home, each generation more powerful than the last. Then, in the aftermath of a terrible tragedy, the last of the Duncans, once prophesized to be the most powerful of their kind, abandoned their ancestral home.
One of them, Brigid Laguerre moved to California and turned her dark gift into fame and fortune. Her sister, Phoebe, settled on a ranch in Texas, where women visit in secret for her tonics and cures. Phoebe's daughter, Sybil, has become a famous chef. Seemingly powerless, Sibyl has never been told of the Duncan bloodline.
Now Brigid, Phoebe, and Sibyl have been brought to Wild Hill to discover their family legacy. The Old One, furious at the path mankind has taken, has chosen three powerful witches to turn the tide. The Duncans will fulfill their destinies--but only if they can set aside their grievances and come together as a family.
"Powerful, potent, and heartbreakingly timely, Kirsten Miller's The Women of Wild Hill is a rallying cry. It filled me with hope and felt like a hug from my best friend. I want to give this book to every person I know." -- Erin A. Craig, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Thirteenth Child
"This enchanting offering finds a family of witches fighting the patriarchy on their ancestral home in Long Island. ... Miller breathes life into the proceedings as the women contend with the sacrifices required for their righteous mission. It's sure to appeal to Miller's fans and win her plenty of new ones." -- Publishers Weekly

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Kirsten Miller grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and moved to New York City to attend Barnard College. She’s the bestselling author of more than a dozen novels for young people, including the critically acclaimed Kiki Strike trilogy, the Nightmares! series, (which she co-wrote with actor Jason Segel), and How to Lead a Life of Crime. Her first adult novel, The Change, was a GMA Book Club pick in 2022. Her second, Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books has been a favorite choice of book clubs across the United States since it was published in 2024. Her latest novel, The Women of Wild Hill, returns to the world of witches just in time for Halloween 2025. Kirsten’s books have been published in over twenty-four languages and have been nominated for multiple awards, including a Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award and the Willie Morris Award for Southern Fiction. She currently lives in Brooklyn where she’s working on a (hopefully!) hilarious new satire
that’s set in the manosphere.
ABOUT THE CONVERSATION PARTNER:
Mandy Martin hails from Nashville, TN but, really, she's from Dickson Co. but, honestly, isn't she from Memphis by now? Wherever she hangs her hat, she's always been a bookworm full of questions. Her "But why?"s of childhood never really went away and that curiosity lead her to get a BFA in Musical Theater (always finding the "Why" in the role), then to a career as a wedding planner (explaining the Whys behind traditions, price tags, and place settings).
She now gets to ask incredible authors for their "Why"s. "Why did you make all the chapters so short?" "Why are all of your books set in the same fictional town?" "Why would you put mayonnaise on a perfectly good banana sandwich?" She's honored to dive deeper with authors about their work and their "Why" and is always searching for her next 5 star read!
