About this Event
West Yorkshire Combined Authority's FREE adult cycle training programme aims to enable more people to travel by bike. Sessions run every Sunday until mid-October, except bank holiday weekends.
Sessions are available to adults aged 16+. You can choose to use your own bike, or one will be provided for you.
Our Sunday sessions are run by two qualified instructors and are suitable for:
Beginners – Learn how to ride for the first time. These traffic-free sessions will help you balance, glide and then progress to setting off, pedalling and turning corners. If you can ride but are a little wobbly, then our instructors will give you tips on where to look to help you ride with control.
Improvers – Develop your cycling skills and confidence. If you can already ride, we can help you develop your skills to include signalling, riding along narrow paths and even how to ride on road in traffic. These sessions take place in traffic free environments and quiet roads around Leeds Rd Sports Complex.
All our sessions are free and you can attend as many as you wish. However, we ask if that if you can't attend a session, please come back to Eventbrite and cancel your place because we always have a waiting list of people wanting to attend.
