About this Event
Writer and critic Jennifer Higgie joins artist Kira Freije for a conversation in the context of Unspeak the Chorus, Freije’s first major solo exhibition in the UK. Their discussion will touch on themes of kinship, grief, tenderness and companionship that run through Freije’s sculptural figures, alongside her interest in literature, devotional painting and the emotional possibilities of materials such as steel, textiles and glass. Higgie’s writing on women artists, imagination and overlooked histories offers a wider lens through which to consider the human relationships and quiet narratives that shape Freije’s work.
