About this Event

Who Is Kintsugi Hope For?
Kintsugi Hope is a wellbeing group that aims to help address our emotional health. Each week, a different topic is covered such as resilience, disappointment, anxiety and loss. There is a mixture of videos, discussion in groups and personal reflection in a safe confidential space.

When and Where?

This is an 8-12 week course (there are 4 optional weeks) that will take place in our Lounge room at Portswood Church (opposite Waitrose), SO17 2FY on Wednesday afternoons between 2-3.30pm starting on 24th April (we will have a break for one week in the middle on 29th May).

Why is it called Kintsugi and what should I expect?

Kintsugi HOPE Wellbeing course takes its inspiration from 'Kintsugi' which is a Japanese technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold. The idea is to repair the brokenness in a way that makes the object more beautiful and even more unique, than it was prior to being broken. Instead of hiding the scars, it makes a feature of them.

Likewise, the aim of the Kintsugi HOPE wellbeing course is continue the process of repair and celebrate how our unique story has shaped the person we are today.

How much does it cost?

We suggest a donation of £8 to cover the cost of the course booklet which you will be given on the first week.

Who are the course leaders?

Louise Flooks

Louise is married with two children. She enjoys a really good coffee, slapstick comedy and strategic board games. Louise is a trained life coach and mentor.

Sarah Bradley

Sarah is married with two teenage boys. She became aware of the importance of doing a regular mental health check-in about 7 years ago when she suffered with a severe case of depression and anxiety. As a natural extrovert, it came as a big shock as she was the last person that she thought would ever suffer from mental health issues! Sarah has a BSc in Psychology and has completed Counselling level 2 training.
