Nearly all humans have disappeared after an event
dubbed the Quiet Rapture. The remaining people are
looking for clues in outer space. The most promising
lead is found on a small moon where recently an
ocean of human blood has formed. A convict in a
submarine is sent in to investigate the mysterious
sea, but there are great perils on his mission ... and
not all of them are below the surface.
After his Let’s Play of the 2022 video game “Iron
Lung” turned the small indie game into a surprise hit,
YouTuber Markiplier brings it to the big screen. A true
labour of love, the claustrophobic submarine horror
spawned a grassroots cult following that made it the first surprise success of
2026, despite a shoestring budget.
