We are delighted to announce a return visit to explore Kings Mountain after our last outing in November 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for those who could not make it then and expressed a wish to join in our next adventure.
The hike will commence by climbing Kings Gully. We will visit the "Nobel Six" memorial cross on route and learn something of the history of the tragic events that occurred during the civil war. in 1922.
After a short detour off the trail we will explore Annach Re Mhor, a massive cave-like canyon fissure that splits through Kings Mountain. You will have opportunity to descend into the canyon. Please note we will not be abseiling or using ropes.
After this we reach the plateau of Kings mountain with stunning views of Glencar Lake in the distance.
Our hike will cross over the some boggy terrain to climb up to Slievemore with its "Millennium Cross" erected by the local Mountaineering Club.
The last part of our journey climbs us up to Kings Table, the highest point on Kings mountain
