ABOUT THIS EVENT
King's Cross Canal History Walk
Come along, enjoy the outdoors, meet new people, discover the history of the canals and learn how London has changed over the last 200 years. Our walks are fun and friendly, with a gentle pace and lots of time to chat.
The walk, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by a qualified historian and walk leader, with a huge amount of knowledge and experience.
These sessions are designed for adults and for children from seven years old upwards as an introduction to walking and are easy grade along our amazing towpaths. Learn a bit of history or see some awesome wildlife which is around every turn on our waterways.
You will explore the history of the Regent's Canal through King's Cross - it includes a visit to the Regent's Canal, St. Pancras Lock, the old gasholders, St. Pancras Old Church, Water Tower and Islington Tunnel. There will be opportunities to stop along the way.
The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment:
Please wear comfortable shoes, bring some water, and a jacket if raining.
Unfortunately we are unable to welcome dogs to this event this time. But please do look out for other events where all dogs would be most welcome!
