Kid’s Event: Christmas Card Crafting with Illustrator Natelle Quek

Join us at Happy Reading Children’s Bookshop for a festive in-person Illustrator Event with the wonderful Natelle Quek! This cosy, creative session invites children and families to relax, unwind, and enjoy a gentle Christmas craft activity together.

In this hands-on workshop, children will:

• Create and decorate their very own Gingerbread Man greetings card based on the book
• Be guided by professional illustrator Natelle Quek, whose charming artwork brings warmth and personality to every project
• Discover festive inspiration from her latest picture book written by author Kate Thompson: Christmas Lights on Mistletoe Street (Puffin)

This event is designed to be joyful, calm, and welcoming — a perfect way to slow down and enjoy some festive creativity.

Important Information:

• Suitable for all ages (younger children may need grown-up support)
• Event duration: approx. 45minutes (includes signing)
• Ticket price: £5 per child (includes a paperback copy of the book, usually £7.99)
• Booking is essential — spaces are limited!
• The bookshop is on the first floor, accessed via a flight of stairs.
• Children will sit at a play table or stand around a craft table for activities. All materials are provided and age-appropriate.
• Adults may stay for the event (limited seating available) or relax with a coffee and pastry downstairs in STAPLE.
• If you can’t attend, please let us know so we can offer your space to another family.
• Photos may be taken for social media (backs of heads only). Please let us know at the start of the session if you prefer your child not to be included.
