About this Event
Do you want your kids to learn how to kayak? Or perhaps you would like them to experience the environment in a unique way on the water. Children 6+ years old and their families are welcome to come to this special Kids to Parks event where all will learn about water safety, paddling skills, and viewing nature from a kayak.
This FREE program is limited to 10 participants, so pre-registration required.
Children 6-12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian in the same kayak, and children 13-17 may paddle solo but must be under the supervision of a parent/guardian. All paddlers are required to wear a properly fitted personal floatation device (PFD). Both PFDs and kayaks are provided by the park.
The group will meet inside the Visitor Center at 8:30am to check in, before heading down to the Aquia Creek paddle launch together. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and dress to get wet!
