About this Event
Calling all curious kids, future scientists, and young gardeners! Join Miss MJ and Miss Megan for a six-week botanical investigation designed to help children explore one big question: What do plants really need to grow?
Through hands-on experiments, observation journals, and guided activities, participants will test how water, air, soil, and sunlight affect seed growth using their own investigation kit at home. Each child will create hypotheses, track plant changes over time, and compare their results with other young investigators in the Phelan Gardens community.
Families can follow along weekly on Phelan Gardens social media, where Miss MJ and Miss Megan will share step-by-step videos, updates from our own experiment, answer questions from the comments, and celebrate discoveries along the way. Weekly email updates begin June 1st and help keep everyone on track throughout the investigation.
This program is designed for children in grades 1-4 and can easily be adapted with grown-up help for younger participants. Kits may be picked up beginning two days after registration and include seeds, peat pellets, a botanical journal, and experiment materials needed to get started.

- Pick up your kit at Phelan Gardens beginning two days after registration.
- Starting June 1st, tune in weekly on Phelan Gardens social media and check your email for experiment updates, videos, tips, and new investigation challenges from Miss MJ and Miss Megan!
