The Crafty Crow NM-Fall Camp 2025
Dates: Monday November 24, Tuesday November 25, Wednesday November 26, Friday November 28
Theme: Indoor Fall Camping Adventures is a cozy, fun and creative indoor camp experience where youth explore community, imagination and connection
Focus: STEAM, Music, Movement & Mindfulness, Performance, Nourishment & Cooking, Culture & Heritage, Language (Spanish), Life Skills, Social Skills
Age Range: 6–11 (split into ages 5-7 & 8–11 groups)
***with flex ages 5 & 12 with sibling, friend or family member in attendance
Group Size: Up to 12 campers
Price: $70 per day plus $10 per day supply fee= $80 p/d/per child
1 or More Siblings Price: $60 per day plus $10 per day supply fee= $70 p/d/per child
***Sliding Scale if qualified: $50 per day plus $10 per day supply fee= $60 p/d/per child (up to 6 spots available)***

· Sensory-safe space: calm nook, weighted blankets, noise-reducing headphones available.

Day 1: Monday November 24, 2025
Campfire Beginnings- Build Your Own Campground, Drumming Circle and Storytelling
Morning (9:00–11:30)
· Welcome & Opening Circle: Introductions, name games, community agreements, “camp names.”
· S.T.E.A.M.-Create Your Camp Space: Through Engineering and a bit of Mathematics, build mini-tents or blanket forts with twinkle lights; decorate banners with team names inspired by local plants or constellations.
· Camp Craft: DIY Campfires using tissue paper, construction paper, rocks and LED candles.
· Spanish: Greetings-Hello, Goodbye, Numbers (flashcards, posters, songs)
Lunch (11:30–12:15)
Please bring your own packed lunch and beverage (plus a refillable water bottle)
Afternoon (12:15–3:30pm)
· Outdoor Recess (weather permitting) – Please dress in warm layers and bring boots/gloves/hat.
or
· Indoor Recess- Playing with toys, reading books, doing art
· Cooking & Nourishment: Make "Choose Your Own Adventure Trail Mix" and Gatorade at the picnic tables
· Movement & Music: Drum circle with heartbeat rhythm and body percussion; learn a few simple camp songs.
· Reflection: Storytelling circle around the “fire.” Read from, act out or create a Campfire Story to share with the group.
Late Afternoon (3:30-4:00pm)
· Outdoor Recess (weather permitting) – Please dress in warm layers and bring boots/gloves/hat.

· Indoor Recess- Playing with toys, reading books, doing art
After Hours (4:00-5:00pm)
· Additional Art Project or Movie of the Day "Camp Rock" (Rated PG)
Day 2: Tuesday November 25, 2025
Obstacle Courses, Camp Songs and Gift Making (and Giving)
Morning (9:00–11:30)
· Welcome & Opening Circle: Any new introductions, review community agreements
· Movement: Act out the words of various camp songs
· STEAM Challenge: Build obstacle courses outside using cardboard, chairs, fabric, mats, string, and imagination.
· Spanish- Review Greetings-Hello, Goodbye, Numbers. Learn Colors (flashcards, posters, songs)
Lunch (11:30–12:15)
Please bring your own packed lunch and beverage (plus a refillable water bottle)
Afternoon (12:15–3:30)
· Outdoor Recess (weather permitting) – Please dress in warm layers and bring boots/gloves/hat.
or
· Indoor Recess- Playing with toys, reading books, doing art
· Obstacle Course Trial Runs: Your team will go head-to-head to run the obstacle course you and other campers have built.
· Cooking & Nourishment: Make Warm Spiced Apple Cider and S'mores in the kitchen area.
· Art & Design: Create Camp Badges and Friendship Bracelets for peers. Do a gift giving exchange.
Late Afternoon (3:30-4:00pm)

Day 3: Wednesday November 26, 2025
Treasure Hunt, Dioramas and Animals
Morning (9:00–11:30)
· Welcome & Opening Circle: Animal Yoga.
· Introduce Orienteering: What is it and what tools do we use? Treasure Hunt after lunch!
· STEAM Challenge: Build a Working Compass – simple science activity using magnets, needle, cork and water.
· Spanish- Review Greetings-Hello, Goodbye, Numbers, Colors. Learn Animals (flashcards, posters, songs)
Lunch (11:30–12:15)
Please bring your own packed lunch and beverage (plus a refillable water bottle)
Afternoon (12:15–3:30)
· Outdoor Recess (weather permitting) – Please dress in warm layers and bring boots/gloves/hat.

· Indoor Recess- Playing with toys, reading books, doing art
· Orienteering: Team Treasure Hunt time using a compass and treasure map.
· Cooking & Nourishment: Make Popcorn Balls and Hot Cocoa in the front Room
· STEAM Challenge: Build Paper Tents & Camp Dioramas – creative storytelling through building.
Late Afternoon (3:30-4:00pm)
· Outdoor Recess (weather permitting) – Please dress in warm layers and bring boots/gloves/hat.

Day 4: Friday November 28, 2025
Stars, Stories and Skits
Morning (9:00–11:30)
· Welcome & Opening Circle:
· Star Stories Game: Storytelling exercise using myths and constellations. Where in the night sky to view them.
· STEAM Challenge: Make Your Own Shadow Constellation by designing a constellation, punch out the constellation on construction paper, create a story, and using flashlights shine it on the wall while you tell us about YOUR constellation.
· Spanish- Review Greetings-Hello, Goodbye, Numbers, Colors, and Animals. Learn Star, Sun, Moon, Sky (flashcards, posters, songs)
Lunch (11:30–12:15)

Afternoon (12:15–3:30)

· Cooking & Nourishment: Prep Hot Cocoa & Cold Drink Station. Prep Popcorn Bar.
Late Afternoon (3:30-4:00pm)
· Performance Prep: Practice short skits, songs, or gratitude statements.
· Set up: Snacks and chairs for our family camp night celebration.
After Hours (4:00-5:00pm)
· Family Camp Night Celebration: Families are invited for final “Campfire Showcase” — music, storytelling, constellations light show and shared snacks.
