About this Event
Guided by guest artist and educator Marina Lamari, kids will learn how to create a small series of cyanotype prints. Using the analogue cyanotype process within the historic Younghusband building, participants will use natural objects, shadows and sunlight to create a unique series of artworks to take home. Perfect for ages 6–12. All materials provided or foraged during workshop. At least one parent or guardian must be present for the duration of the workshop for each child.
The workshop will cover:
- Magic sun printing
- Staying safe
- Colour, texture and positive / negative space
- Organic and geometric shapes to create contrast
- Kids forage, collecting Leaves, sticks, rubbish from the site (they can bring small flat objects from home if they like)
- Exposure, washing and drying
- Group show + tell
This is a free workshop as part of the QUID PRO QUO public program curated by Tameka Carter. All materials provided. As places are limited, please only book if you’re confident you’ll be able to attend.
