About this Event
This Eventbrite is only an announcement, not a reservation! There are no tickets to this event. Bikes are distributed first come, first served.
The Kids Bike Swap starts at 11am and ends at 2 pm on the Pennsylvania Avenue side of the park, near the Bike Library.
Children must be present with a parent or legal guardian, and have a used bike to swap. Please expect to sign in upon arrival to get your place in line for the Swap.
At 1:30pm, we will distribute safety checked bikes to children without a bike to swap. These bikes are generally the smaller bikes, fitting children who are under 4 ft. tall. Sorry, but we cannot guarantee that we will have a bike to fit every child.
Please come prepared with sunscreen and water – there’s no shade in the area.
If the weather forecast shows a high percentage of rain, this event may be cancelled. If the event is cancelled, we will post a notice on Instagram @Shirleychisholmstatepark cancellation.
This event is hosted by NYS Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation. We thank the NYC Department of Transportation for donating Vison Zero helmets and the Kids Ride Club volunteer mechanics who refurbish the children's bikes and help at each event.
