Join us on Saturday, December 16th for Kevin’s "One Line Premise" Writing Workshop! Each student must bring in a one line premise for a comedy sketch like "What if a guy was $10 short of being a millionaire" and Kevin (and group) will break down each premise, and Kevin will coach and educate students to how they can write it as a scene. This workshop is a writing workshop and we will not be improvising or performing. The maximum for this workshop is 16 students.
“Squeezing Comedy from Improv” Performance Workshop
Date: Sunday, December 17th
Time: Noon-4 p.m.
Join us on Sunday, December 17th for Kevin’s newest performance workshop - "Squeezing Comedy from Improv!” He begins by talking about writing sketches through improv, and will get 4 students at a time to improvise a scene. When each scene is over, Kevin and students will talk about how to make a sketch from the improvised scene that was just done - how to build up the comedy, build on the characters, and create a story for the new sketch they’re making. Then students will do the scene again, as a more prepared comedy sketch. At the end of the class, the students will do improvs again, and this time, work on their own to make them into sketches. Then they perform them and Kevin will give them notes. The maximum for this workshop is 16 students.
