About this Event
THE 2024/25 DETECTIVE PATHWAY OPENS FOR APPLICANTS AT THE END OF THE YEAR
You are invited to this informal drop in for potential candidates and family members/friends.
Have you ever thought about a career as a detective police officer? This is challenging and demanding role that requires dedicated and committed learners. Could this be you. In return you will be supported; trained; menotored and encoured to achieve success.
There are few careers that offer the variety of a police constable. Come along to our free drop in police discovery event aimed specifically at the detective constable entry programme. Join us for free refreshments and samosas to find our more about this rare but amazing opportunity.
Our recruiting team and positive action team will be present to provide advice on recruitment and selection process and the support that is avaiable for candidates progressing through the process. You will also have the opportunity to engage with detective officers to hear their unique insights into the realities of the role and ask questions that help you decide if this is the career for you.
It is important to us that detectives within Northamptonshire Police reflect the diversity found in the county we serve. Diversity brings different ways of thinking and problem solving which can be very beneficial. Historically policing has not been considered a career choice by many people from a minority characteristic such as women, those from an ethnic minority, LGBTQ+ people and people who are neurodivergent and we recognise there may be barriers specific to them applying and we would encourage people from these characteristics to look into the role, requirements, the support provided by our Positive Action Team.
