Singer-songwriter Kerri Powers channels blues and soul with an earthy sensibility. Her ‘Love is Why’ album explores love and its influence on our decisions. Ease behind the microphone and the songwriting pen can be traced to Powers’ family heritage: BingCrosby was a distant relative on her father’s side, while, on her mother’s side, there is a kinship to Herman Melville. Her paternal grandmother played piano for silent movies. Powers has performed at the Boston Folk Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival, and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. She has toured the United States, The Netherlands, Belgium, and the U.K. Her song “Diamond Day” was featured in the motion picture Chuck, and other tracks have made their way into television series Rescue Me and
Justified.
On stage, Kerri Powers delivers a musical canvas painted with soulful colors and emotion that will pull you into her songs and message of love. Performing with her will be Marco Giovino. Opening for them will be Ada Mae, the New England Music Hall of
Fame Young Artist of the Year.
