About this Event
Awarded the best new product at ATSA in 2023, Kera sit2sit technology is redefining the way that non-weight-bearing people are hoisted. The Kera sit2sit hoist allows a single caregiver to quickly and safely transfer a person, with no standing strength or balance, between seated positions. Successfully used with people with neurological conditions (e.g. M.S., MND, Parkinson's disease and TBI) and spinal cord injuries, the Kera sit2sit hoist is replacing standing hoists and keeping people off mobile hoists as long as possible, enabling them to stay in their own homes and primarily being cared for by their family.
Learning Objectives:
· Introduce the Kera sit2sit hoist
· Outline different use cases
· Demonstrate how to use the Kera
· Explore solutions for complex cases
Refreshments included.
PRESENTER
Richard has traded a career in retail banking for a much more meaningful path in assistive technology—or, as he puts it, he’s an "ex-banker looking to redeem his soul." After years of heading credit card and personal loan portfolios, Richard transitioned into fintech and tech startups, spending the last eight years at the helm of HT Systems.
Since its inception, Richard lead HT Systems in raising over $2M in capital and successfully commercialized world-leading innovations, including the patented Kera sit2sit Home, and the ultra-portable Kera Travel hoist. Driven by a desire to build a business that truly lives its values, he has fostered a culture of deep listening, collaborating closely with health professionals and the disability community.
Under his leadership, HT Systems has expanded across New Zealand, Australia, US and the UK, transforming lives by restoring dignity and independence. For Richard, the true reward isn't found in the dollars, but in the moments where his products remove the burden of care, allowing people to stay in their homes and find more time for living.
