Join us for our annual 4th of July Celebration on Saturday, July 4! Events all day including a pancake breakfast at the fire station, 5k race, parade, carnival, and a fun filled evening celebration. Enjoy a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast for $5 at Kentwood Fire Station 1, 4775 Walma Ave SE and head out to find your spot for the parade & 5K Race! Kids 3 and under eat for free.
5K RACE - 8:00 AM
The race starts and finishes in front of Kentwood City Hall. Runners will loop through neighborhoods and come back on the East West Trail to the finish line! Check-in will be across from Fire Station 1.
PARADE - 9:30 AM - New Route!
The parade starts at 4755 Walma at the new Community Center, travels south on Walma, continues south on Breton at the roundabout, turns west on 52nd Street and ends at Challenger Elementary School.
CARNIVAL- 10:30 AM-2:30 PM
Bring the kids for inflatables, rides, and games behind City Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Purchase a carnival wristband in advance for $20 at City Hall and the Kentwood Activities Center on Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3.
EVENING CELEBRATION - 5:00-10:00 PM
The evening celebration takes place behind Kentwood City Hall and includes:
• Food Trucks
• Community Booths
• Beer Tent
• Live Music: Daveonce and DaFung Gang and JP & The Energy
• Fireworks at Dusk
