Please join us for our Spring Dinner with special guest speaker Emily Bingham, the historian and author who will discuss her book My Old Kentucky Home: The Astonishing Life and Reckoning of an Iconic American Song.
In My Old Kentucky Home, Emily Bingham explores the long, strange journey of what has come to be seen by some as an American anthem, passed down from generation to generation, bridging a nation’s fraught disconnect between history and warped illusion, revealing the country’s ever evolving self.
Emily is Visiting Honors Faculty Fellow at Bellarmine University and President of the Southern Association for Women Historians. Her essays, articles, and reviews have appeared in Travel and Leisure, Vogue, Ohio Valley History, The Journal of Southern History, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal. Her books are (2022), (2015), (2003), and, as editor with Thomas A. Underwood, (2001).
