Dr. Kelsey Miles is an artist who bridges the worlds of creativity, science, and soul. A blues singer, songwriter, and harmonica player with a doctorate in chemistry, Kelsey’s journey from the lab to the stage has been anything but ordinary. Her electrifying energy and heartfelt storytelling turn every performance into a powerful experience of connection, empowerment, and healing.
Her latest project, I Am Lyrical Experience, showcases the transformative power of music. Through songs like “Beautiful Mistake” and “Save My Soul,” Kelsey invites listeners to reflect on their own stories and embrace their authenticity. “Music healed me, and it can heal everybody,” she shares.
Originally from Ohio, Kelsey moved to Madison, Wisconsin, to earn a doctorate in organic chemistry, but music soon became her true calling. While her love for science was fueled by creativity, songwriting gave her the courage to confront life’s challenges and find her voice. Starting with open mics in 2014, she quickly became a full-time musician, blending blues, Americana, and rock into a sound uniquely her own.
A dynamic performer, Kelsey has captivated audiences across the Midwest and beyond, playing festivals, intimate venues, and everything in between. She represented Kansas City in the 2025 International Blues Challenge, advancing to the semi-finals, and has earned numerous awards in Wisconsin’s music scene for her commanding stage presence and soulful songwriting.
Beyond performing, Kelsey inspires as a chemistry professor at Avila University and through her podcast, Authenticity Lab. Whether on stage, in the classroom, or connecting with fans online, her message remains the same: embrace your story, find strength in vulnerability, and boldly step into who you are.
With a powerhouse voice, a harmonica in hand, and an unshakable passion for music’s healing power, Kelsey Miles encourages others to live boldly, lead with curiosity, and fully embrace their authentic selves.
