Join us in person for a relaxed and engaging chat about Keir Starmer’s Premiership.
Whether you're curious, passionate, or just want to hear different perspectives, this afternoon is all about open conversation and fresh insights.
Both speakers have a huge amount to offer.
Mark has edited books about Blair, Corbyn and Starmer which have on each occasion drawn togther a stella cast of authors. John McTernan is a political strategist and regular TV pundit. His CV includes a stint as Tony Blair's Director of Political Operations.
The speakers originate from different political places within the Labour Party but they are both known for their thought provoking contibutions within what should be Labour's pluralistic broad church.
There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions and at half time we will have tea and cakes (included in the price).

Keir Starmer's Premiership An Afternoon of Discussion
Host: Charlotte Martin, Colchester Labour
Info: Charlotte Martin the Colchester Labour Party Political Education Officer will open the event and introduce the speakers. Mark Perryman will open the discuussion with a presentation of the findings of his book the Starmer Symptom. He will focus on his own chapter 'Testing the limits of Labourism'. There will then be a refreshments break at about 3.30 pm. Tea and cakes will be provided for free. After the break John McTernan will respond to Mark's ideas from his perspective. There will then be a final session where we all have the opportunity to ask questions and contribute. The event will finish at the latest by 5pm.
