About this Event
If you run a music venue or promote live music across the Liverpool City Region, the Liverpool City Region Music Board invites you to this important follow-up event.
Building on “Putting Music Venues on the Map”, this session brings the sector back together to reflect on progress and shape what comes next.
Your input last time led to real outcomes — including the creation of a venues map now used to support advocacy and lobbying, and helping to address the loss of the night bus, which successfully returned in 2023.
Now, we want to build on that momentum.
This event will focus on shaping a new action plan for music venues, informed by the opportunities and constraints affecting the sector in 2026 and beyond.

What to expect:
- A short introduction setting the context and priorities
- Insight into opportunities including MusicFutures’ Emerging Promoters Fund
- Facilitated roundtable discussions (you choose your most relevant topics)
- A chance to share additional ideas via an open “wish list” space
- Informal networking and opportunity to connect with sector partners
Roundtable themes include: Transport and parking; Planning, licensing and noise; Venue availability, costs and touring; Audiences and behaviours; Innovation opportunities in a time of rising costs; Staffing and training; PRS, licences and tariffs; Data, mapping and dashboards.
Roundtable discussions will be recorded anonymously, and key themes will be shared via the Music Board website following the event. The session will operate under Chatham House rules, creating a safe space for open and honest conversation.
Your feedback will be captured and used to directly inform future LCR Music Board activity and priorities.
This is your chance to share insight, influence decision-making, and help shape the future of live music venues in the Liverpool City Region.
