We know that Rocket Lab is launching military satellites from Mahia for a company called Blacksky that is contracted to the IDF to provide surveillance. The NZ government is intent on cosying up to the US regime that is both funding and arming the genocide in Gaza, and increasing the militarisation of space. Our government, military and Rocketlab have stated they are more than happy to be part of US military plans to take war to space and get into a new arms race with China. This is outrageous. This government should be opposing any alignment with a regime that is giving billions in military aid to Israel to conduct its genocide in Gaza. We should be opposing the militarisation of space - and standing up for a ban on weapons in space. Join us outide MBIE in Stout st - where the NZ Space Agency in based, and march to the Ministry of Defence in Bowen St. We will make it clear we need to keep space for peace.
