ABOUT KEEGAN
From Portland, Oregon, Amerindian bassoonist Keegan Neely began studying music at the age of 15. As a high school senior, Keegan was awarded the opportunity to become a part of the National Youth Orchestra, performing in concert venues around the world including Carnegie Hall, the KKL Luzern, the Berlin Konzerthaus, and the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam. He has studied with Carin Miller of the Oregon Symphony and is currently earning a Bachelor of Music degree here at Lynn, in the studio of Whitney Crockett. Keegan has participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists including Gustavo Núñez, Monica Ellis, Judith LeClair, Julia Lockhart, and Luciano Magnanini. In his free time, he enjoys making reeds, studying urban design, and ecological conservation of his home region, the Pacific Northwest.
