Kedr Livanskiy (aka Yana Kedrina) is one of the key figures of the Russian underground, widely recognized both within the scene and far beyond it. Drawing on the immediacy of 1990s pop, the pulse of British rave electronics, and the sincerity of folk, Yana has crafted her own songwriting language. It would later be labeled “lo-fi” and “bedroom pop,” with Yana becoming an icon of the genre.
Kedr Livanskiy has released five studio albums, including last year’s Myrtus Myth. Her international acclaim is reflected in glowing coverage from Pitchfork and The Guardian, as well as an extensive touring history: from Spain’s Primavera festival to Uzbekistan’s Stihia, from European headline shows to a tour of Japan.
