About this Event
Join us for the Kearny Main District Historic Walking & Food Tour, a guided exploration of the heart of Kearny that combines local history, neighborhood storytelling, and small bites from local eateries.
Co-hosted by Strong Towns West Hudson, Kearny Urban Enterprise Zone (KUEZ), and the Kearny Museum, this event brings residents and visitors together to experience the past and present of Kearny’s central business corridor.
Participants will walk approximately one mile along Kearny Avenue, visiting several local businesses to sample small bites while learning about the buildings, monuments, people, and stories that shaped this historic commercial district.
The tour will be guided by Kearny Public Library Director and Kearny Museum member Josh Humphrey, with commentary from Strong Towns West Hudson founder Chris Vasquez and participating business owners along the route.
Along the way, participants will view a tour booklet featuring historic photos and “then and now” images that help illustrate how the district has evolved over time.
The tour concludes with a social gathering and pastries at the Kearny Public Library, giving participants an opportunity to reflect on the experience and connect with neighbors.
