Westwood Ensemble, The Waldo-Brookside Rotary Club, and Harvesters are partnering for a community food-boxing fundraiser on Tuesday, November 25 from 6:00-8:00PM at KC Bier Co (Waldo). We would be grateful to have you join us in supporting Kansas City families this holiday season.“Sip a beer, fill a box, lift the arts, feed a family.”
That’s the spirit behind this effort.
The goal is simple:
More hands means more boxes packed.
More boxes means more families fed.
More participation — beer or no beer — helps sustain the arts in our community.
What Happens on November 25
Harvesters will provide the boxes and labels. Volunteers, local businesses, neighbors, and musicians will supply the food items and help assemble the meal kits. During the event from 3:00-9:00 PM, KC Bier Co will donate $1 from every bier sold to Westwood Ensemble, a nonprofit chamber orchestra offering free community concerts throughout Kansas City. Participation is encouraged whether or not you drink — showing up and donating food items is just as impactful.
How You Can Participate
We are inviting local food partners and business owners to donate any quantity of the following items. Each meal box contains one of each:
2 cans green beans (14.5 oz)
1 can corn (15.25 oz)
1 can cranberry sauce (14 oz)
1 can sweet potatoes (15 oz)
1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
1 box cornbread mix (8.5 oz)
1 box stuffing mix (6 oz)
1 box instant mashed potatoes (6.6 oz)
1 gravy packet (.87 oz)
