The City of Alexandria will host a grand opening on May 9 (12–3 p.m.) for a new ADA-compliant kayak launch at Four Mile Run Park. Developed by the Four Mile Run Conservancy, this first-of-its-kind launch in the DC metro area features accessible design elements that make paddling easier and safer for beginners and people with mobility challenges. Located on calm, shallow waters with connections to the Potomac River Water Trail, the site expands access to outdoor recreation, supports environmental education, and offers new opportunities for community programs.
