The May 3rd Kaw Mission Councils: 2026 Westward Expansion Lecture Series will be "The Kaw Mission 175th Commemoration." The program will be held at 2 pm at the Territory Ballroom, located at 117-119 West Main Street, Council Grove, Kansas. Speakers for the program will be Kansas Historical Society Executive Director Patrick Zollner and Kaw Mission and Last Chance Store State Historic Site Administrator Mark Brooks. Join us we commemorate the 175 years of the Kaw Mission State Historic Site.The friends of Kaw Heritage will provide refreshments after the program. A cash bar will also be available.The Kaw Mission Councils Lecture Series “Westward Expansion” is sponsored the Kansas Historical Society, Friends of Kaw heritage, Trembly, Young, Nystrom, Hylton, and Area Foundations, and trusts.
