In the 17th and 18th centuries, sons—and occasionally daughters—of wealthy families were sent on a Grand Tour through the major cities of Europe to make connections and experience the rich art and music flourishing in Europe at that time. This program is a selection of continents, composers, and styles and reflects the virtuosity and variety of music composed for and performed on the harpsichord during this period.
