Kathak Dance – Taster Class
Hello everyone �
I wanted to share a small community initiative I’m starting here in Norwich.
I’m a Kathak (North Indian classical dance) practitioner, and I’ll be holding my first Kathak taster workshop this March. The session is open to children and adults, and no prior dance experience is needed.
Kathak is one of the oldest Indian classical dance forms and is deeply rooted in rhythm, storytelling, mathematics, and expression. It works through counts and beats rather than lyrics, helping build focus, coordination, imagination, and embodied learning in a gentle, engaging way.
This is intended as a communal and accessible introduction to the form. I’m also keen to connect with schools or educators who are open to ancient visual and performing arts as part of cultural or enrichment activities.
Free one-hour Kathak taster session.
Open to children and adults. Beginners welcome.
