Στις 17 Απριλίου, ημέρα επίσημης παρουσίασης του δίσκου 𝑨𝒏 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 των 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐢́𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐤, θα πραγματοποιηθεί συναυλία στον πάνω χώρο του Underflow. Θα προηγηθεί συζήτηση (Q&A) με τους συντελεστές την οποία θα συντονίσει ο ραδιοφωνικός παραγωγός Μάνθος Γιουρτζόγλου.
𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐢́𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐤 σημαίνει σημείο συνάντησης στη γλώσσα των Inupiaq, των αυτόχθονων πληθυσμών της βόρειας Αλάσκας.
Το ντουέτο δημιουργήθηκε το 2022 από τη Νίκη Κοκκόλη (άλτο σαξόφωνο) και τον Σίμο Ρηνιώτη (τύμπανα). Αυτή η πρώτη τους δισκογραφική δουλειά αποτελείται από 13 ad hoc συνθέσεις, με κοινό θεματικό άξονα το συγγραφικό έργο του Herman Melville.
Με τις ηχητικές επιρροές να εκτείνονται από την χαοτική γλώσσα της free jazz έως και τον μινιμαλισμό των ambient ηχοτοπίων, οι δύο μουσικοί εξερευνούν μέσω του ήχου, τις έννοιες της συνάντησης και της απομάκρυνσης.

Underflow invites you to the official album presentation of Kasímmavik's 𝑨𝒏 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 on Friday, April 17. The evening will feature a live performance on the Underflow's upper floor, preceded by an open discussion (Q&A) with the artists, moderated by radio host Manthos Giourtzoglou.
𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐢́𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐤 is a term included in the Inupiaq language, used by the indigenous people of North Alaska, to describe a meeting point.
The duet of Nicky Kokkoli (alto sax) and Simos Riniotis (drums) was formed back in 2022.
Their debut album consists of 13 ad hoc compositions, inspired by the literary works of Herman Melville. Influenced by the chaotic language of free jazz and the minimalism of ambient soundscapes, the two musicians explore through their sound, the notions of gathering and separation.
