A Father–Daughter Exhibition Celebrating Generations of Riverbend Creativity

Mooneyham Art announces Karman’s Daughter, Megan’s Dad, a dual exhibition featuring Riverbend residents Megan Fairless and Karman Fairless, a father–daughter creative duo whose artistic journeys have shaped one another across decades. The opening reception will be held, April 4th from 5–9 PM at Mooneyham Art in Historic Downtown Alton, with live music by Psychedelic Symphony, free refreshments and desserts. The exhibition will remain on display for the entire month of April.
This free public event continues Mooneyham Art’s commitment to offering accessible cultural experiences to the Riverbend region, celebrating local talent and strengthening community connection through the arts.

Megan Fairless: Digital Creator & Award-Winning Filmmaker
A Godfrey, Illinois native, Megan Fairless is a digital creator and filmmaker whose work blends cinematic storytelling with emotional authenticity. Raised in the studio of her father, artist Karman Fairless, she grew up surrounded by paint, sculpture, and the discipline of craft. What began as being known simply as “Karman’s Daughter” evolved into a powerful creative identity of her own.
Today, Megan is the founder of Megyme Productions and the recipient of the 2025 Best of the Best Videographer and Photographer award. Her mission is simple and profound: to make memories, to freeze time, preserve emotion, and reveal the beauty in everyday life through her lens. This exhibition marks a full-circle moment as she shares a gallery floor with her father for the first time.

Karman Fairless: Sculptor, Airbrush Artist, Lifelong Creator
Also based in Godfrey, Karman Fairless has been creating art since childhood. Known nationally for his professional airbrush work, Karman’s pieces appear in private collections across the country. His practice extends into sculpture, where he draws inspiration from the natural world and the stories embedded in local culture.
His newest work, a sculptural interpretation of the legendary Piasa Bird, brings a beloved regional icon into three-dimensional form, merging myth, craftsmanship, and place. For Karman, this exhibition is both a celebration of artistic legacy and a deeply personal milestone.
