Village Cuts are a dynamic DJ / Producer duo from London, specialising in a fusion of UK club sounds in collaboration with African, Latin & Caribbean creatives. Since 2018, they have ignited dancefloors at venues and festivals around Europe and East Africa, whilst holding down regular club nights and live events across London.
Combining elements of Afro House, UK Funky, Amapiano and Afrobeats with major guitar licks, round syncopated drums and pepperings of bubbly FX, the duo have carved themselves an uptempo, club-ready sound which equally feels at home on a festival stage, a sweaty nightclub, or underneath a moonlit baobab tree.
Village Cuts have collaborated with celebrated artists from Kenya, Uganda, Congo and Colombia, releasing on labels such as Blip Discs, Wah Wah 45s, Strut Records, Galletas Calientes, Albert’s Favourites, Palenque Records, Heavenly Sweetness and Mawimbi.
With a monthly residency on Soho Radio and features on radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, BBC 6Music, Worldwide FM, NTS, Jazz FM and more, Village Cuts are committed to promoting underground movements in global club music.
After a busy summer period at festivals such as Glastonbury, We Out Here, Secret Garden Party Wilderness and Shambala to name a few - the duo are also freshly back from touring in East Africa - Village Cuts have got an array of collaborative releases incoming!
