The Kalamazoo Refugee Resource Collaborative (KRRC) is thrilled to invite the entire Southwest MI community to the first annual Refugee Film Festival, taking place from October 11-13, 2024, at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum's Stryker Theater. This inspiring event will occur over three days, featuring three powerful films (one each day) that tell the stories of refugees from around the world. Each screening, running from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM daily, aims to foster understanding, empathy, and action within our community. At the end of each film, there will be a panel discussion featuring local community members and organizations.
Refugees in Kalamazoo and the broader Southwest Michigan area have enriched our space with their resilience, cultures, and stories. This festival is not only an opportunity to engage with global narratives but also to acknowledge and support our local refugee population, who contribute so much to our shared future.
Join us for a weekend of impactful cinema, discussions, and connection as we explore the resilience and courage of those who have been displaced from their homes. Your presence and participation will help amplify these vital and powerful voices.
