A regular, monthly meeting of the Kalamazoo Public Library Board of Trustees, in the Van Deusen Room on the third floor of Central library. There are two public comment opportunities: early in the meeting under agenda item "III. PERSONS REQUESTING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD" and late in the meeting under agenda item "XII. PERSONS REQUESTING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD". During these times (mandated by the Michigan Open Meetings Act), any person may address the board on any topic for up to 3 minutes. This includes persons who have been banned or suspended from the library (as required by the Open Meetings Act), unless they've caused a disturbance at a prior library board meeting. A person may speak during BOTH public comment opportunities. The meeting agenda packet can be found at https://www.kpl.gov/category/about/board-and-administration/meeting-minutes/
These meetings can be viewed live, on-line at https://www.kpl.gov/boardmeeting/ - people watching live will also have an opportunity to participate in public comments, after the in-person speakers are finished.
Regular meetings of the library board are normally held on the fourth Monday of every month, except for November (usually no meeting) and December (second Monday).
