The Indian Heritage Academy (IHA) in collaboration with Azim Premji University presents Kailasamsaara, a vibrant Kannada comedy celebrating the life and legacy of T. P. Kailasam, revered as ‘Kannada Prahasana Prapithamaha’ (the great grandfather of humorous plays in Kannada). Kailasamsaara revisits the wit, literary brilliance, and unconventional spirit of Kailasam through a lively collage of scenes from his plays, his celebrated humour, and anecdotes from his life. Eight decades after his passing, Kailasam’s works continue to resonate with audiences, and this production offers a bird’s-eye view of his classics as a heartfelt tribute to the genius who shaped modern Kannada theatre.
