About this Event
This a half-day workshop.
Ilaria Padovani, maker for Kaffe Fassett's Studio, will guide you through the process of choosing from an extensive selection of Kaffe’s fabrics, cutting circles and strips, and stitching them into charming Yo-Yos.
Fabric Yo-Yos are small, hand-stitched dimensional fabric circles that can be used for a wide variety of crafts, from traditional quilts to modern home décor, garments and accessories.
During the workshop Ilaria will share her expert tips and tricks, inspiring you to experiment with colors and patterns to create your own unique collection of Yo-Yos. Once you have mastered the technique you will be given the choice to embellish either a tote bag or a cushion cover using the Yo-Yos you previously made.
You'll leave with a newfound appreciation for colours and a collection of unique Yo-Yos to incorporate into your own projects.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced fabric enthusiast, this event offers something for everyone including the opportunity to experiment with a large range of Kaffe Fassett's fabric to choose from.
Yo-Yos are the perfect project to take on the go or to keep your hands busy when you’re watching TV, visiting with friends, or just hanging out with the family.
All attendees will have free entry to view an exhibition of Kaffe Fassett's Quilts which are on loan from his private collection, alongside "The Tree of Life Quilt" by Julie Harvey & Ilaria Padovani, which was commissioned by the University of Bristol.
All the material is provided including the choice of either a cushion cover or a canvas tote bag to embellish. Please bring your basic hand sewing kit (scissors, pins and needles).
Coffee, tea and pastries will be available.
If a workshop is cancelled for any reason by the organisers, the participants will receive a refund minus the Eventbrite fees.
