About this Event
Tuesdays, April 7-May 5, 6:00 PM-7:30PM (Kindergarten will dismiss at 7:15PM).
Prerequisites: Students must be “potty trained” and be able to work independently as well as in a group setting.
By registering for this event:
- I understand that the Center is open to the public with many events happening at the same time as the K5 STEM Academy. For this reason, I will accompany the student the entire time they are on this property.
- I understand that all class materials will be provided by the teacher and will not send anything with the student to class.
- I will take the student to the restroom before taking them to class.
- I understand that no refund will be given after the 1st day of class.
- I grant permission to the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, its officers, employees, and/or agents (collectively “the Center”) to photograph, audio/video record me or any minor children for which I am the parent/legal guardian during participation in this program and to use such photographs, recordings, or videos in any medium (including print or electronic sources) at its sole discretion without further consent or any compensation.
PLEASE NOTE: If you put YOUR name in the CHILD’s Name field, your child’s name tag and certificate will have your name on it.
The K5 STEM Academy was created to assist Region 7 become in-line with HB 831 which “Requires the Standards of Learning established by the Board of Education and the program of instruction for grades kindergarten through 12 developed and implemented by each local school board to include computer science and computational thinking, including computer coding.”
