About this Event
Throughout the world, female artists make economic gains that propel families, even communities into living standards far beyond their previous reach. From the northern highlands of Guatemala to Afghanistan’s arid desert, women creatives drive social change. Their sales afford the uniforms required for children to attend school, allow neighbors to tap into running water and improve nutrition. As a provider, a woman gains status, even independence, in and outside the house.
Our K/NOW DIALOGUE: Artistry and Agency examines the economics of art on the ground with two leading voices: Bangladesh Social Entrepreneur Robin Seyfert and World Bank's Gender Group Senior Economist, Diego Javier Ubfal. Join us Saturday, April 18th, from noon to 1:30pm.
