-> Naujausiame muzikiniame performanse FOUNTAIN DREAMS (lt. Fontano sapnai) menininkė Justina Mykolaitytė kuria daugiasluoksnį sceninį paveikslą, kuriame išnyra tarpinėse būsenose įstrigusi veikėja. Savo kūryboje jungdama skirtingas praktikas – performansą, barokinį dainavimą ir elektroakustinę muziką – naujame kūrinyje Justina pasitelkia netradicinę erdvę kaip pagrindinį peizažą, kuriame vystosi sapnas.
-> Laiko kontūrus tirpdantis vaizdinys bus įkurdintas buvusiame restorane-naktiniame klube „Bomond Tabero“ Tilto gatvėje, Kongresų rūmuose. Tai anachronistinė, laike įstrigusi erdvė, anksčiau ji priklausė Lietuvos valstybiniam simfoniniam orkestrui, čia saugotos orkestro partitūros, vyko repeticijos, o šiandien veikia valgykla-kavinė. Filosofas George Didi-Huberman savo tekste Before the Image, Before the Time, Sovereignty of the Anachronism teigia, kad „visada būdami prieš vaizdą, esame prieš laiką – tarsi prieš atviras duris: jos nieko nuo mūsų neslepia, tereikia įeiti“. Šiame darbe menininkė taip pat kuria tą akimirką, kai žiūrovui reikia įeiti į neapibrėžtą pasaulį.
-> Erdvės centre esantis apleistas fontanas tampa sapno topografija – tai vienas ryškiausių baroko epochos ženklų, simbolizuojančių gyvybę, galią, perteklių ir laikinumą. Šiandien fontanas nebeatlieka savo funkcijos, aplink jį formuojasi situacija, kurioje laikas ne progresuoja, o kaupiasi ir kartojasi. Justinos Mykolaitytės kuriama performanso veikėja tarytum įstrigusi šiame cikle: ji juda erdvėje, atlieka barokines arijas, kurios persipina su Meredith Monk ir Peggy Lee kūriniais. Kiek laiko trunka šis sapnas? Ar mes čia lankomės pirmą kartą ar tik sugrįžtame? – klausia menininkė.
APIE MENININKĘ
Justina Mykolaitytė – menininkė, aktorė ir atlikėja, kurianti muzikos, teatro ir tarpdisciplininio meno lauke. Jos kūryba apima balsą, muziką, judesį, performansus, vizualumą bei improvizaciją. 2019 m. ji baigė fotografijos ir medijų meno bakalauro studijas Vilniaus dailės akademijoje, o 2025 m. – baroko operos dainavimo magistrą Lietuvos muzikos ir teatro akademijoje. Menininkė yra bendradarbiavusi su Lina Lapelyte, Rugile Barzdžiukaite, Vaiva Grainyte, Arturu Bumšteinu, Egle Švedkauskaite, Agne Matulevičiūte, Gaile Griciūte ir kitais. Su menininkų duetu „Pakui Hardware“ ir komanda 2025 m. pristatė muzikinį performansą “Sporos” PERFORMA bienalėje Niujorke, JAV (prodiusavo Operomanija). Taip pat su atlikėja Godo Yorke sukūrė autorinį muzikinį performansą „Longing“, kuriame naujai interpretuojamos baroko kompozitorių arijos, pasitelkiant elektrinę gitarą, efektuotą vokalą bei improvizaciją.

Recital-performance
-> In her latest musical performance FOUNTAIN DREAMS artist Justina Mykolaitytė creates a stage tableau in which a character trapped in liminal states emerges. Combining different practices in her work—performance, Baroque singing, and electroacoustic music—Justina uses an unconventional space as the primary landscape in which the dream unfolds.
-> This visual, which blurs the contours of time, is set in the former restaurant and nightclub “Bomond Tabero” on Tilto Street, in the Congress Hall. It is an anachronistic space, frozen in time. It once belonged to the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, where orchestral scores were stored and rehearsals took place, and today it operates as a cafeteria-café. In his text "Before the Image, Before the Time, Sovereignty of the Anachronism", philosopher George Didi-Huberman writes that whenever we are before the image, we are before time; as before an open doorway. It hides nothing from us, we need only enter. In this work, the artist also creates that moment when the viewer must enter an undefined world.
-> The abandoned fountain at the center of the space becomes the topography of a dream—it is one of the most striking symbols of the Baroque era, representing life, power, excess, and transience. Today, the fountain no longer serves its function; a situation forms around it in which time does not progress but accumulates and repeats itself. The performance character created by Justina Mykolaitytė seems to be trapped in this cycle: she moves through the space, performing Baroque arias that intertwine with works by Meredith Monk and Peggy Lee. How long does this dream last? Are we visiting here for the first time, or are we simply returning? – asks the artist.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Justina Mykolaitytė is an artist, actress, and performer who works in the fields of music, theater, and interdisciplinary art. Her work encompasses voice, music, movement, performance, visual art, and improvisation. In 2019, she completed her bachelor’s degree in photography and media art at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, and in 2025, she earned a master’s degree in Baroque opera performance (singing) from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. The artist has collaborated with Lina Lapelytė, Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė, Vaiva Grainytė, Artūras Bumšteinas, Eglė Švedkauskaitė, Agnė Matulevičiūtė, Gaile Griciūtė, and others. In 2025, she presented the musical performance “Sporos” at the PERFORMA Biennial in New York, USA, with the artist duo “Pakui Hardware” and their team (produced by Operomanija). She also created the original musical performance “Longing” with performer Godo Yorke, which reinterprets arias by Baroque composers using electric guitar, vocoder-enhanced vocals, and improvisation.
