About this Event
The University of Roehampton and CoDE Early Career Researcher Network: is pleased to invite early career researchers and professionals working in justice, social policy, or related fields to attend a symposium exploring critical questions of race, ethnicity, justice, and resistance across disciplines. This event will provide a collaborative and supportive space to engage with cutting-edge research, network with peers, and discuss future directions for scholarship and practice in this area.
The symposium will feature presentations by selected speakers whose work addresses historical and contemporary forms of resistance to racial injustice, the experiences of racialised communities in contact with state institutions, and the production of knowledge around race and ethnicity in legal, carceral, and social contexts. Topics covered will include:
- Racialised justice systems
- Ethnicity and policing
- Migration and border regimes
- Resistance movements
- Intersectionality in legal or carceral contexts
- Education, medicine/nursing, and employment
