About this Event
Why are we mobilising?
On Saturday 16 May we will march in London for the annual commemoration of the Nakba - the ongoing catastrophe inflicted on the Palestinian people by Israel since 1948 - to demand an end to Britain's complicity in Israel's crimes and reaffirm our commitment to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including the refugees' right to return home. For 78 years, Palestinians have been subjected to a racist system of oppression including ethnic cleansing, settler-colonialism, apartheid and genocide.
This year, far right thug Tommy Robinson has called on his racist supporters to mobilise on the same day. Robinson is a fascist who founded the EDL, was a member of the BNP and has a history of whipping up violent racism and Islamophobia. His far right street movement is a threat to us all.
Every anti-racist, anti-fascist and all people of good conscience need to be in London on the day - against racism, the far right and all forms of hatred, including Islamophobia and antisemitism, and to stand with the Palestinian people whose demand for justice is as important now as ever before.
The far right wants to divide us and drive us off the streets. The government wants us to give up on our solidarity with the Palestinian people. On Saturday 16 May we will stand together in London and show that unity and solidarity will prevail. Join us.
