Midwinter is almost upon us, when the long nights finally begin to yield to the welcome return of the sun.In diverse traditions around the world, coming together on the winter solstice for dance, fun, and festivity is commonplace for keeping spirits high and remembering the blessings that kinship and community bring. For some it is also an opportunity for honouring one’s shadow with personal reflection or sharing stories. Whatever your intentions and practices for this evening, you are welcome!
Just Dance is delighted to welcome back Luminus of the Massachusetts conscious dance community ✨🙌✨ Alongside JD co-resident dj, Raghunath Khe, the pair team up to deliver a plethora of newly emerging organic electronic vibrations from some of our planets most innovative and compelling producers, musicians, and composers. A dynamic flow of futuristic global sounds exploring a full range of rhythm, expression, and intensity. Sweet bass, delicious grooves, ethereal frequencies. It's gonna get sweaty!
Frosty + festive visuals for the evening will be crafted live by the brilliant VJ Kashub.

DJ Luminus aims to engage your body, heart and soul. His sets will take you on a magical journey around the globe with a colourful blend of funk, global bass, and melodic house balancing both organic and electronic rhythms. Luminus (Marek) is originally from Prague, currently nesting in Massachusetts where he organizes ecstatic dances Vortex and I-Opener (www.iopenerdance.com). He has been bringing his heartfelt musical waves to dances around the US, Canada, Europe and Central America.

:: RAGHUNATH KHE ::
Raghunath Khe has been an intrinsic part of the evolving conscious dance culture for more than 25 years. An innovative composer, producer, and dj, they are interested in the transformational properties of music, movement, bhajan, and community. They have previously released four albums - earlier ones under the moniker Haitchc, have composed multiple original film scores, and are currently working on material for their fifth full-length release. Raghunath is a formal brahmana initiate within the brahma-madhva-gaudiya sampradaya (lineage), having spent several uninterrupted years as a monk studying and serving in temples both in Canada and India. They belong to the sodalities of bhakti, tantra, and ashtanga, and through familial succession, draoidh healing practice. Regularly performing, teaching, and orchestrating events, they are affiliated with Full Moon Medicine, Back Beyond, Waxing Moon, and Intention Gathering, and are a co-resident dj and organizer at Vancouver's long-running Just Dance night. In addition, Raghunath contributes musically and otherwise to various festivals and gatherings locally and internationally. A long-time radio presence, they are currently the host and producer of Mantra Radio on CiTR 101.9fm in Vancouver.

:: VJ KASHUB ::
Kashub's name stems from the tribe of his ancestry situated along what is now the Baltic Coast of Poland. The tribe, now dispersed and displaced, lived peacefully isolated amidst sand dunes and swamps along the Baltic since before the dawn of the State of the Teutonic Order some 800 years ago. VJ Kashub brings powerful visual projections to induce a spiritual scene so as to reacquaint long lost souls of his ancestry onto our dance floor.

Just Dance is a positive party community event. It offers a unique opportunity to dance to an eclectic selection of music from around the world. Held every week Just Dance can be described as a refreshing alternative to the bar and club scene. It is a place where you are free to be yourself, connect with a vibrant community and dance the way you want!.
