Just Dance is stoked to welcome back very special guest DJ DRIEM!Aaron (aka DJ DRIEM) is excited to return to Just Dance after a long hiatus. A few years back when JD was a weekly event, Aaron was part of the JD Core as he hosted a monthly dance event. He then moved on the Island where he further develop into an alchemist of global rhythms & electronic vibrations and has been moving the dance floors of locally and internationally such as the Comox Valley Dance Temple, Burning Man, What if, Dance Temple Gatherings, Pachena Bay Fest, Otherworld, Under the Mother Tree, Sublunar, Valhalla Fest, and more (see Bios below).
Driem gives reverence to the ancestral traditions of the world as he weaves sound via live guitar & flute, blended with the skills of an ecstatic dance DJ. He can feel the rising energy of Spring and is stoked to share plenty of ancestrally inspired tunes and some high energy fire... expected groovy. He'll be playing a few musical instruments live too!
Opening the evening will be DJ Abheeru sharing some deep, grooving and tribal sounds, infused and inspired by the diverse musical traditions. He will be selecting cuts from a palette of fresh global music and intuitively weave a unique full evening set for your dance odyssey.
Be prepared to experience a broad spectrum of tempo, rhythm and intensity in the sonic fabric. Expect to hear extravagant and exotic sounds from every continent, fused with hip-shakin' basslines and solid beats - a perfect synthesis of the traditional and contemporary.
Lush radiant visuals will be crafted live by the talented VJ Kashub.

Just Dance is a nonprofit organization that thrives because of our volunteers. Helping for only 45 minutes gets you in for free and connects you with our other volunteers and core team. Driem (Aaron Handford) is a Deep House & Downtempo Bass producer/DJ whose festival credits include Burning Man, Burn In The Forest, Pachena Bay Fest, Otherworld, & SubLunar and releases on the Visionary Shamanics label.
He is inspired by the intersection of the musical legacies of Africa, India, Europe and the Middle East with modern sample based electronic music making methods and is an active music producer.

As the founder of Just Dance, he has produced, promoted and DJed more than 650 events for over 60,000 dancers. Those were done in the spirit of service as he has always wanted for JD to donate all of its proceeds to local charities and nonprofit groups. For over three decades, he has continued to innovate, inspire and promote new musical concepts for the Vancouver dance community.
As a DJ, Abheeru is known for taping into an extensive palette of genres and styles from far-reaching locations around the world. His main passion is to infuse and mix a wide range of musical organic elements and instruments from many diverse cultures and to blend those with delectable and powerful modern dance beats. The results are exquisitely creative dance sets that will keep your dancing soul and shoes happy.

Kashub is passionately dedicated to augmenting dancefloors with beautiful, lush, and meaningful visuals. Driven by this, he intuitively syncs his live artistic output to the shifting mood of the room and the evolving music. He hopes to help elevate the immersive experience, making every event a synesthetic journey where sight and sound merge.
Kashub's name stems from the tribe of his ancestry situated along what is now the Baltic Coast of Poland. The tribe, now dispersed and displaced, lived peacefully isolated amidst sand dunes and swamps along the Baltic since before the dawn of the State of the Teutonic Order some 800 years ago.

Just Dance is a positive party community event. It offers a unique opportunity to dance to an eclectic selection of music from around the world. Held twice a month, Just Dance can be described as a refreshing alternative to the bar and club scene.
