About this Event
Over 450,000 Georgians with previous felony convictions are eligible to vote, but many are unaware of this fact. Additionally, people with a felony conviction lose thousands of rights, even after they are released from Pr*son.
Pristine Parr, a Canopy Atlanta Fellow, experienced her own challenges with the justice system after her son was arrested and imprisoned for more than two years without a trial or bond. During this event, she will share her personal story of how this has changed her family's life and how she approached voting, civic participation, and the legal system.
The event will also include a panel discussion about restoring social and legal rights of justice-impacted individuals.
Check back soon for additional details regarding panelists and resources.
