Step Into the Designer’s Studio: A School Holiday Fashion Experience
Give your child a seat at the designer’s table this school holiday! Located at STUDIOVII in South Strathfield, this 2-hour workshop is a vibrant, hands-on introduction to the world of fashion. It’s designed specifically for creative kids and teens who love arts, crafts, styling, and making things with their hands.
Instead of just drawing on a screen, students will dive into the tactile world of textiles, learning how professional designers move from a spark of inspiration to a physical creation.
What to Expect:
• Master the Fashion Figure: We start with the basics of "croquis" sketching. Students will learn how to use professional templates to map out their outfit ideas with correct body proportions.
• The Fabric Library: Kids get to explore a curated collection of real designer fabrics, laces, ribbons, and trims. They’ll learn to identify different materials and understand how "feel" and "drape" change a design.
• Concept & Storytelling: We’ll explore how to pick a theme whether it’s high fashion glamour, streetwear, or a fantasy concept and translate that "vibe" into a cohesive design board.
• 3D Collage Creation: Following the professional industry process, each student will build a stunning 3D Fashion Design Collage. They will layer their hand drawn sketches with real fabric swatches and embellishments to create a tactile masterpiece.
