A fun, hands-on experience for men and the children in their care to connect with nature and learn bushcraft skills. These are **not drop-off sessions**—participation is for both adults and children.
This month we will be filtering and purifying water and having a go at some foraged nettles for food.
Event Overview:
• Focus: water and foraging
• Audience: Junior bushcraft sessions for men and the children in their care (Note: NOT drop-off sessions).
• Location: Meet at the car park at Parkhurst Forest, then walk to the Forest School area.
• Activities: Varying tasks each month, such as shelter building, fire lighting, and using tools (axes, billhooks, saws, drills).
• End of Session: Campfire with a fire-side snack.
Facilitators:
Geoff Mason: Owner of Wood Learn Forest School, with diverse experience, including living with Aborigines in Australia and teaching wheelchair users.
Luschka van Onselen: Assists during sessions, providing pastoral care for girls in attendance. Also a bushcraft professional, accredited forager and outdoor therapist.
Cancellation Policy:
• 12-child limit: Cancellations must be made 2 weeks in advance.
• Cancellations before 14 days: Receive 100% refund.
• Cancellations after 14 days: Refund only if a replacement is found.
• Ticket transfer: Tickets can be passed to others, with prior notice.
Come prepared for an adventurous and memorable morning in the forest!
