Introducing our first 'Let Sport Do The Talking' show with former Bath, Harlequins, Worcester & England 7's Rugby Union player Richard de Carpentier. Rich, the man affectionately known as ‘Chippy’, debuted for his country in the World Rugby Sevens Series back in 2011, starting an eight-year journey in the Sevens game.
From Sydney to Hong Kong to Las Vegas, de Carpentier has featured all around the world with the red rose on his chest and earned over 200 caps, winning the RPA England Sevens Player of the Year in 2017 whilst featuring in medal-winning campaigns at the Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco and Gold Coast Commonwealth Games a year later.
His 43 Sevens tournaments coincide with appearances in the Premiership, Champions Cup, Challenge Cup, Championship, LV Cup, A League and British & Irish Cup. Leicester, Nottingham Rugby, Worcester Warriors and Harlequins were all fortunate to have de Carpentier as part of their squads during his career before he arrived in the West Country at Bath, where he also retired at the end of the 2022/23 season.
With a huge rugby community here on the island, this will be of interest to many. Please note his will be a seated event so tickets are limited.
