Join us for a Juneteenth luncheon hosted by the Young Members Committee and featuring Reverend Dr. Alvin Hathaway Sr., longtime West Baltimore pastor, civic leader, and CEO of the Beloved Community Service Corporation. He will share the powerful history of what he calls “Baltimore’s Freedom Square,” a four-block Upton neighborhood shaped by figures including Thurgood Marshall, Cab Calloway, Clarence Mitchell Jr., and William Halsted. Through the lens of this neighborhood—home to landmark churches and institutions that helped seed three Maryland HBCUs—Reverend Hathaway will explore how its legacy of education, advocacy, and leadership continues to shape Baltimore and inspire national impact. His remarks connect this rich history to the meaning of Juneteenth today and the ongoing pursuit of justice, opportunity, and community transformation.
Parking: Parking is NOT available at the Club. We recommend that you use our alternate lot—the 30 Light Street Garage—which is located directly across the street. You will need a Photo ID to show to Security in the lobby.
